BALLROOM LEGACY FUND
On a quarterly basis, we are allocating $2,500 to this programing to provide resources and collective support to houses in both the Kiki & Mainstream scenes. Recognizing the diverse talents within the ballroom community and drawing from our own exposure to varied art forms. Cultivating expansive creative minds and help houses develop through artistic expression.
Guidelines for Applying and general information:
We're seeking a clear and adaptable concept for all applicants. The ball you're applying for should be a minimum of two months away. It's essential that our applicants have a relationship/connection with the scene. We're prioritizing Black, Latinx, Trans, and POC individuals.
All applicants will receive notification of grant award status via email. The final determination will be assessed based on various criteria-alignment with the specific category and tier of the ball:
-
Strength and coherence of the overall concept.
-
Feasibility and practicality of concept realization.
-
Creativity and ingenuity demonstrated in the concept.
-
Potential for the concept to contribute to shaping cultural narratives.
-
Anticipated impact on the community.
Evaluation criteria encompass a holistic consideration of artistic merit, innovation, and community engagement.
Lastly, the final amount of money you will receive from the grant, ranging between $200 and $1000 will be expressed to Grantees upon them being notified of them being awarded.
For some applicants we may ask to provide a letter of recommendation from a House parent, or a "notable" Ballroom community member
